The stability of a home is one of the most fundamental human needs. It shapes everything—from health and education to financial security and community connection. Yet for millions of people in the U.S., safe, affordable homeownership remains out of reach.

In King County alone, more than 14,000 people experience homelessness on any given night, and across the country, nearly half of all renters are cost-burdened, spending more than 30% of their income on housing. The housing market, driven by profit maximization, continues to push prices higher—rewarding speculative investors while leaving working families behind.

That might work for luxury homes with butler’s pantries and wine cellars. But what about families who just want a comfortable, lasting home—something modest, practical, and built with care? A place to raise kids, age with dignity, and build the kind of stability that makes opportunity possible?

That’s why House to Homes exists.

We build small-scale, community-focused housing that prioritizes people over profit. Through infill development and the thoughtful redevelopment of underused suburban lots, we create homes that are attainable, sustainable, and designed for real lives. Our projects support “missing middle” housing—duplexes, triplexes, backyard cottages, and small clusters of homes that blend into existing neighborhoods without contributing to sprawl.

We are not here to serve speculators or developers chasing a quick flip. We never sell to institutional investors, Airbnb operators, or landlords. Every home we build is sold only to people who will live in it as their primary residence—whether they’re buying their first home, upsizing, or downsizing. No rentals. No second homes. No loopholes.

Why? Because homeownership is the single most reliable path to building wealth in America. Those who are able to buy a home gain access to equity—equity that builds generational wealth, unlocks opportunity, and strengthens entire communities. But today, the dream of homeownership has become a luxury, when it should be a foundation.

We’re working to change that—one home, one block, and one neighborhood at a time.

Join us in rebuilding the foundation of the American dream.

By creating homes that are attainable, sustainable, and built for real families, we’re not just fighting the housing crisis — we’re shaping stronger, more resilient communities. Change starts small, and it starts now.
